2015 CyberPatriot Participation Report

Civil Air Patrol participation in the CyberPatriot competition continued to grow in 2015 with over 522 teams (122 more than 2014) registered for Cyber Patriot VIII (CyP VIII). This year we had over 304 teams actively participate which is a 6% increase from the previous year. From these 304 teams, 256 participated in the High School division while 42 teams participated in the Middle School division. Furthermore, in efforts to ensure all squadrons receive proper CyberPatriot participation credit for the Quality Cadet Unit Award (https://www.capmembers.com/cadet_programs/library/quality-cadet-unit-award/), National Cyber Programs implemented a new program that gives the member individual participation. This information will be displayed in the member's eServices training profile in the future.

Of these teams CAP had over 1100 senior and cadets participate in the high school competition and 173 in the middle school competition. The following graphs outine regional participation and their tier placements. For the highschool competition, teams are placed into the Platinum tier (top 30%), Gold tier (middle 40%), Silver tier (bottom 30%). Middle school teams are marked semifinalists after the state round, if they qualify.
